Saw your reblog, and had to re-read your Reiji headcanons post. I remember how it made it laugh sm the first time I saw it. It later gave me an idea:

See, I once thought of Fuwa getting Yukiko into Shoujo manga (totally not based on my time getting into Shoujo, nope!) so I thought, "What if Yuzuru decides to buy a Shoujo manga as a surprise gift for his sister, and he heads to the store Reiji works at? Neither are aware the other is his sister's classmate's older brother."

I've been meaning to tell you about it, but I kept forgetting 😅 Your reblog seemed like a nice opportunity to finally share this.

So yeah, do what you want with this idea.

Yuzuru probably has no experience when it comes to manga so naturally he had to get help from Reiji. Reiji just made things way more complicated than they had to be. Anytime Yuzuru thinks he’s found a good choice of manga, Reiji completely shuts it down.

Yuzuru: “I think she’ll like this one”

Reiji: “Nah, the characters are bland, the plot is rushed and spoiler alert, the girl dies in the end.”

Yuzuru: “Isn’t the whole point of a manga shop to allow people to pick out the manga that THEY want?”

Reiji: “Not if it’s the wrong choice.”

The process takes longer than it has to be. Yuzuru would have left but he’d feel way too guilty. It’s been a couple of hours and the manager (let’s call him Tanaka) decided to check in on them.

Tanaka: “Is everything alright you two?”

Reiji: “Yup!”

Yuzuru: (mouthing) “Help me.”

Eventually, Yuzuru picks something out that actually pleases Reiji

Reiji: “That’s quite a good pick. You see, there’s this plot twist where-“

Yuzuru: “Can I please just buy this already?”

And so, Yuzuru has learned that buying manga online is a way better option.
